Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof - Frankfurt

ONE OF THE FINEST BELLE EPOQUE HOTELS IN THE WORLD!

We knew the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof was going to be special. Everything we had read about this hotel was top of it's class. Well, we can now say with certainty after our stay, everything you have read about this hotel is true, and then some. The exterior of the hotel is astonishing in it's beauty. Yes, before the hotel was badly damaged during WW2, it was apparently even more spectacular, but that is hard to believe as it is incredible as it is. The public areas in the hotel are superb, and the room we were allotted was fantastic. The staff in general were friendly and helpful. Our only problems, ironically came when we were taking photos of my wife who promotes hotels on her instagram. A staff member nervously cam,e up to us and tried top prevent me from taking photos of my wife. When I pointed out that instagram is full of photos guests have taken of themselves - so whatever policy they may have had about guests taking photos, was not working. He trotted off to speak to his manager, and this dinosaur looked like he had no idea what social media was and what free publicity is. They looked very worried, and I tried to explain to them that I took photos of my wife and of the hotel *without* other people in the photos, in order to respect other people's privacy. After further discussion, the manager on duty agreed that it was OK for me to take photos of my wife. Bizarre discussion, but, they were not rude at any stage and it did not sour our happiness and positive feelings we hold for this hotel. We loved our two night stay and look forward to staying at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof again in the not too distant future. It is superb in every way....even if they seem to be publicity shy.
