Dorint Park Hotel Bremen

WONDERFUL PARK SETTING!

The location of the Dorint Park Hotel Bremen is superb being surrounded by lush park land and capped off by having a large man made ornamental lake out the front complete with fountain. When we drove up, we sadly noted that there was no one to help us with our luggage standing at the door. With this minor hiccup out of the way, the desk staff were polite and efficient in solving nay problems. We were allocated a marvellous room that was comfortable with a large, bright bathroom. The hotel's decor is somewhat dated, but, overall, the ambience is quite good. The major points that impress are the domed centre of the hotel which has an ornamental vaulted ceiling. It is a spectacular room perfect for functions. The (non smoking) bar is very cool. We avoided the Cuban Cigar lounge as we non smokers. The restaurant looks lovely, but the breakfast room is something else! Marvellous vaulted ceiling that must be at least 20 feet high with large windows that reach almost to the ceiling allowing an abundance of light and the glorious park land views. A truly magical place to consume breakfast! With some investment, the hotel could be raised to a standard befitting an upscale 5 star hotel. Sadly, Dorint generally specialise in soulless 4 star business type hotels, so it is difficult to imagine that they would have the will to make the necessary investment required to bring this venerable hotel back to its very best. Either way, it is the best hotel in all of Bremen, so we would not dream of staying anywhere else when we return.
