BELLE EPOQUE GRAND HOTEL IN THE MOUNTAINS!

Back in 1877, two men had a dream to cash in on the burgeoning tourist interest in the Swiss Alps. So they built this Belle Epoque masterpiece in the middle of the mountains, complete with it's own spa facilities and extensive grounds that are the largest of any hotel in Switzerland. The built an incredible hotel in a magical location! We arrived fairly late in the evening, and greeting was the irrepressible Nick - a young Kossovar-Albanian chap of immense manners, professionalism and enthusiasm for his job. That boy is headed for the top of his industry. A credit to the Grand Hotel Waldhaus. We were assigned a wonderful room and bedded down for the night. When we awoke and looked out the window, OMG! What a spectacular mountain view!! It was insane. We went downstairs and had an a la carte breakfast (I kid you not!) whilst enjoying the amazing views from our breakfast table. The hotel has undergone an extensive renovation very recently after changing hands, and the results are incredible. We stepped outside to explore the grounds of the hotel, and it was an adventure we will never forget. We have only one regret about or stay - it was too short! We plan on returning soon, and staying longer. Do yourself a favour and book in at least three nights. You will need them to fully appreciate the incredible grounds and hotel facilities. As for my husband and I...we will shall return soon!
