Hotel Sacher - Salzburg

SACHER TORT ANYONE?

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Sacher Salzburg and it was a marvellous old world experience! I pulled up in my hired car outside the door of the hotel and the doorman raced out to unload my suitcases and take my car keys to have the car parked all the while smiling and welcoming me to Salzburg. With enthusiasm like that, how could I not be impressed? The staff were all exemplary in their level of service and respect and we were happy with the room we were allocated. Sure it looked a little dated, but it was big and comfortable and as we were to find out later, a massive renovation project is underway to bring the hotel up to the present. However, the hotel itself (especially the public areas) are amazing in any case with an unbelievable location facing the Salzach River. Just a short stroll across the bridge spanning the river is the Old Town and all the charms that can be found there that would delight the curious traveller. We enjoyed our time at the hotel and a big part of that was the always friendly staff who made many wonderful suggestions (my husband and I even ate a delightful Macedonian restaurant thanks to a tip off by one of the door staff!) and the wonderful location. Do yourself a favour and check the Hotel Sacher out...the world famous Sacher Tort is worth the effort alone!
