Bayerischer Hof - Munich

MUNICH LOVES YOU! SO DOES THE BAYERISCHER HOF!

We visited Munich again this northern summer after having last visited in 2013. Then, as now, we stayed at the glorious Bayerischer Hof - the unofficial royal palace of Bavaria! We had a marvellous suite designated to us by the kind management. The room was, for the want of a better word, magnificent! Stylish décor, impressive in size and clean as a whistle. The hotel itself is a Belle Epoque masterpiece in a magnificent location in central Munich. Everything that you want to see is a short walk away - including the legendary beer halls. Back to the hotel, the staff are all wonderful. Never met a person who did not have a genuine smile on their face, no matter what time of day it was. Bavarian friendliness was everywhere on display. Axel the bar tender in the legendary Falk's Bar is a cool cat. Very likeable guy. So were the other bar tenders who displayed exceptional service. But the biggest star of the Bayerischer Hof is undoubtedly the concierge Florian Weidenbach. Both in 2013 and on this trip, Florian was an invaluable guy to talk to about whatever it is you want to do that day. Ne with helpful suggestions, or trouble shooting minor problems. No problem is too great or too small for Florian. In my 2013 review, I said that Florian was as good as any concierge on the continent - this still holds true today. My wife and I consider Florian to be our "friend in Munich". A credit to the Bayerischer Hof. Experience this glorious hotel for yourself - you will not regret it!
